Welcome
to Clearness.nl
This is a special online platform designed for employees for whom drugs and/or alcohol are creating difficulties
for them in their professional lives. Clearness.nl was developed in conjunction with large and small organizations
to address the perceived needs of those employees. Clearness.nl operates discretely and with complete confidentiality.
On this website you can obtain information about where to begin in breaking free of addiction or addictive tendencies.
Your employer may already have drawn your attention to this website after having had a conversation about your
alcohol/drug problem and the related consequences of this problem.
This website provides you with clear and direct information about giving up or substantially reducing your alcohol/drug usage.
Anyone can get caught in the web of addiction in the course of their lives; it is not at all unusual.
Mood-altering substances are available everywhere. The consumption of alcohol and drugs has come to be a relatively
socially acceptable behavior. In the beginning we are often only aware of the advantages we gain from using alcohol or drugs.
When we use a mood-altering substance we may feel more confident, relaxed and infused with a sense of well-being.
Over time our substance usage often becomes more progressive. We know that we are becoming addicted when
there are times that we cannot do without a drink or a drug just in order to be able to cope: It can easily become normal
to have a few stiff drinks after work, a good bottle of wine at dinner, maybe a nightcap in order to sleep; or, a quick joint
during work break just to get through the day; or perhaps a little boost with some coke or speed to help complete a
project at work; these are just a few examples of how one can get caught in an addictive pattern.
Clearness.nl is part of the Clearness Foundation (Helderheid Stichting) in Utrecht. Our expertise is in treating
people struggling with alcohol or drug dependency: Ordinary people that have normal jobs, and often have a family,
who have, in the course of their life, found themselves confronted with being chemically dependent.
These same people have decided : I want to be in charge of my life again, and I can use some help.
We offer both short training sessions as well as focused counselling. Resent research, conducted by the
Centre of Addiction Research of the Utrecht University, has indicated that more than 70% of our
participants have succeeded in giving up or dramatically lessening their substance abuse. Our method is simple.
We assist you in being able to choose for yourself again; choosing for your own life. When you
become free to choose, you will find you do not need alcohol or drugs anymore.
